Songs from the Heart Day 19 Psalm 125

Bible open to Ephesians, with a journal and a woman's hand on top of it

Write the Psalm

Those who trust in God

    are like Zion Mountain:

Nothing can move it, a rock-solid mountain

    you can always depend on.

Mountains encircle Jerusalem,

    and God encircles his people—

    always has and always will.

The fist of the wicked

    will never violate

What is due the righteous,

    provoking wrongful violence.

Be good to your good people, God,

to those whose hearts are right!

God will round up the backsliders,

    corral them with the incorrigibles.

Peace over Israel!

— The Message

Using a translation that helps to better understand the passage, write out Psalm 125. As you write, think about the places other than God that you’ve looked for security or safety. Where are you seeking hope, security and protection other than the Lord. Confess these things to God, who is our stable protector who cannot be moved.
