Read
Read Romans 8:18-25, then ask yourself:
What does this passage teach you about Jesus, his character or why he came to earth?
What do these verses teach you about yourself? About creation?
What is the hope we so eagerly await? Explain it in your own words.
Why is the reality that your hope will be “made sight” in eternity a reason you should praise God?
Journal
Scholars, theologians and pastors like to talk about our salvation as the “already” and the “not yet”—something that is simultaneously past, present and future. We were saved at a specific moment in time when we recognized our need for a Savior; we are being saved as we walk with Jesus and allow the Spirit to make us more and more like him; and, one day, when we pass into eternity, the hope that has held us through all these years will be fully realized, and we will know the fullness of our salvation in Jesus. It’s that fullness and that reality that even creation cries out for in today’s passage.
Today, take some time to to praise God for the hope that you have, thanking him for the ways he has walked beside you, called you back to himself, and anticipating the joy of being with him for all eternity, fully restored, fully known, fully loved.
