Tailgate Sandwiches
Looking for picnic favorites or easy sandwiches to eat poolside? Try these tailgate sandwiches which are always crowd-pleasers!
Amish Macaroni Salad
It’s a picnic staple, and this recipe makes a perennial cook-out favorite easy to make. There’s a bit of chopping involved, but you can easily accomplish that while the noodles and the eggs boil. It’s an old-fashioned dish, but every time we’ve shared it somewhere, people have raved!
Spinach Dip
It’s hot—and easy dips to serve with chips or fresh veggies are always a welcome addition to your Independence Day celebration. This spinach dip only takes five ingredients and is easy to pull together, even with short notice. Give it a try this Fourth!
Street Corn Salad
The Fourth of July is prime sweet corn season, so take advantage of it by making this Mexican street corn-inspired salad. Featuring corn and traditional elote ingredients (like cojita and mayo), it’s an easy and simple side dish to pair with burgers, brats or whatever you’re grilling up on Independence Day. Best-Ever Blondies
Cookies are always a great Fourth of July dessert option, but if you’re a home baker, that usually means using a couple of cookie sheets and several rounds of monitoring the oven and cooling racks until you’ve baked the entire batch. Blondies have the advantage of making a batter, pouring it into your pan, setting a timer and walking away. If you’re looking for an easy, low-fuss dessert, these blondies (which include chocolate AND butterscotch or whatever else you’d like to add in) might be the perfect solution! Try our recipe.
Ice Cream Dessert
We live in the South, so the Fourth of July can be a little toasty. One way to cool off (beside a dip in the pool or a day at the lake) is ice cream. This easy ice cream dessert is sure to be a hit at your gathering.
Banana Pudding
It’s as American as apple pie and the perfect complement to picnics, cook-outs or summer gatherings. It may be simple, but banana pudding is always appreciated. Here’s one of our favorite recipes for this familiar favorite.
