Confessions of a complete moron

I’ve never claimed to be a know-it-all in the world of girl-guy communication. Actually, I know that I’m so far from being an expert that it’s laughable. See, I’m the girl who has ended up on a date with a guy and not realized it was a date until I was actually on it. . . .I’m really sad to admit that this has happened not once, but twice! Granted, the first one shouldn’t really count. We were in high school and couldn’t drive yet, so we got to go to on our highly romantic, high class date (to the rodeo in Sikeston) with his parents. The second time, though. . . .um, yeah, that happened right when I moved to Nashville five years ago!
Most of you know about my recent run-ins with Cesar, the assistant manager guy at Baja Burrito. It started out with him gazing at me across the restaurant on several visits, then following me to my car to ask me my name, then inquiring of my age and job, more smiling across the restaurant, building me monstrously large burritos, and finally, on Tuesday night, awarding me and Mindy with coupons for a free meal. . . on him! Mindy laughs at the whole situation, especially me whenever Cesar talks to me, because I’m rendered speechless. I seriously never expect anyone to put that much effort into paying attention to me. So when it happens, I become the village idiot, unable to make a sentence or form an actual thought!
Recently a friend of mine (a guy) implied that I play hard-to-get. Gray, our intern at work (a guy), told me that I was playing Cesar by continuing to go back to the restaurant every so often (OK, once or so a week, since it’s one of my favorite restaurants!). Seriously, guys, a lesson from the ladies: some girls do play hard-to-get and come up with all kinds of conniving ways to “get” the guy, but that’s not most of us, particularly me. What you see is what you get! I am just that clueless! And I don’t have time to do that much scheming!
So laugh it up at my ignorance! I do, usually much, much later when I realize that I am a complete moron!
