OK, so the Cards won me a World Series on Friday night, and I haven’t commented about it until now. . . . .well, it’s been CRAZY! I watched the game, screamed, danced around my living room, freaked Mindy out, and generally got myself so excited that I did not sleep well on Friday night. Which was a problem, since my choir and the mixed ensemble I sing in at church was recording a Christmas album (I just like to say that) the next day. I was almost late for the said recording because I couldn’t decide what Cardinal shirt to wear. Finally, I just picked one and ran out the door.
Then there was Sunday, which meant church for hours. I get there at 9 and generally don’t leave until 12:30 p.m. It makes for a good but tiring day. Then there was lunch. . .and Moe’s was closed b/c of a water main break in Brentwood. Who knew?! Then I had to move all my crap out of my storage building to my new condo before the end of the month. So I was hauling my Christmas tree and ornaments, a rolling chair, and several boxes of files all over Nashville yesterday afternoon. I came home from all that, was extremely hot and tired (I’ve been dealing with stomach issues), so I lay down on the couch and took a nap. When I woke up, my stomach was STILL hurting. So I watched a scary movie and ate soup and did laundry. It was a happening night!
This morning I finally got the chance to cruise over to www.stlcardinals.com and check out the festivities. My Cardinals did it! And David Eckstein=World Series MVP! (It couldn’t have gone to a better person!) And more than anything, I wish I’d been there. I wish I could have lined the streets of St. Louis Sunday afternoon and celebrated like I’d won the trophy myself. I wish I’d been wearing head to toe Cardinal red, maybe even a Spiezo soul patch, and yelling for all my might, a vital component of the Cardinal Nation. This is MY team, and they are world champions! Go crazy, folks. GO CRAZY!
