Adios, Sydney Bristow

Tonight, one of my all-time favorite TV shows, “Alias,” ends. While it hasn’t been the show I came to love nearly 5 years ago in the past few seasons, I still have to know how it all plays out. And although I know it’s a TV show, I’m a little sad to have to say good-bye to characters I love. So here are the lessons I’ve learned from all my years as an “Alias” fan: You can tell if someone is a bad guy if he or she begins wearing a lot of black and especially if excessive use of black eyeliner and eye makeup comes into play.

Computer guys are weird but lovable.

Kicking butts and taking names, no matter how lofty the reason, always leaves you with a lot of enemies.

Don’t mix ice cream and tequila. You may end up kissing your best guy friend and make things incredibly weird.

Not remembering 2 years of your life is a bummer.

Never trust someone named Arvin.

Wigs make you completely unrecognizable.

Death is not the end (though my belief has more to do with accepting Christ as Savior and having eternal life than the “Alias” bring-back-the-dead-or-their-clones plot line.)

Dating someone you work with has its own very special set of issues.

Juggling several jobs at once (student, CIA agent, double agent, friend, girlfriend, mother, daughter) is exhausting!

Sometimes, love hurts.

Good may not win every battle, but it trump everything in the end.

Hockey’s a fun sport (unless you’re playing with Irina Derevko!)

Chocolate chips aren’t a great pancake ingredient.

And finally: True love never dies.

So I’ll be watching tonight (ABC 8-10 p.m.) Do not call unless you’re also watching and want to listen to me cry, scream, and cry some more. Farewell, “Alias!”
