As we end our 2024 Summer Reading Plan, let today be a day when you dwell on and celebrate the living hope you have in Christ!

We live in a world that’s full of evil and suffering, but we’re not alone. The living hope we have in Christ outshines it all.

it’s easy to lose focus as we’re struggling through our lives. We can get so focused on right now that we don't see the bigger picture.

In our “hustle” culture, we often equate humility with letting others run right over you or an inability to self-promote. 

It’s one thing to suffer for your faith; but it’s a whole other thing to lead fellow believers through that suffering with the right focus.

Yet today’s passage starts with the admonition: “be happy when you are insulted for being a Christian” (NLT).

Take a deep breath today and take a few minutes to mull over all you've read and realized this week as you've studied 1 Peter.

If you’re actively seeking to live a holy life, trials will come. But don’t be surprised and don’t be afraid. You’re not alone.

Peter’s exhortation was that believers walk in the ways of Jesus, , so that the time we’ve been given shines with hope and holiness.

When you live a life devoted to Christ, your life looks different from the rest of the world.

In today’s verses, Peter tells us why Christ is worthy of our honor and devotion.

It’s not the message we want to hear, but Scripture is pretty clear that suffering is part of the deal when it comes to following Christ.

This weekend, take a few minutes to meditate on the Scripture you've studied this week and what you've learned about God and yourself.

Harmony, sympathy, love, compassion and humility should be defining characteristics of the Christian life.

Rather than a mental assertion or agreement with a philosophy, Peter pictures salvation as a total reorienting of life.

When we do wrong, it’s reasonable to it’s reasonable to expect punishment. But those who endure suffering for doing good will be rewarded.

Because of our sin nature, we often buck against authority. Peter clearly recognized that authority was going to be an issue for Christians.

Rather than focus on the mistreatment these early believers faced , Peter wanted them to remember who they were in Christ.
